Equipment

BTV offers an array of high-quality equipment which we rent out to our productions. Consult the equipment roster for a complete list. In addition, we have an expansive collection of analog broadcasting equipment from our closed circuit days, including video and audio mixers, broadcast cameras, and monitors which could be used for a variety of projects and installations.

Education

A huge part of BTV is peer-to-peer education. BTV staffers teach themselves new tricks and techniques and pass them on to other students on set or in seminars. We own a small library of filmmaking textbooks which staff members can borrow. You can also read a staff-written technical guide, and check out recordings of past seminars.

Facilities

BTV's offices are located in TF Green Hall (at 7 Young Orchard ave, between Hope st and Brook st), room 112. The office is used for meetings, equipment rentals, and has sound-dampening walls for audio recording. BTV productions can reserve additional space through the Brown scheduling office and Creative Arts Center.

Funding

BTV is a Category III student organization, and is funded by Brown's Undergraduate Finance Board, in addition to money raised from providing videography services to student groups. BTV productions can petition the e-board for funding, and if approved the financial director will bring a supplemental request to UFB. Productions have also received grants through the Creative Arts Council, and several have also raised substantial amounts from individual donations. One great way to fundraise for your project is Kickstarter.
